Welcome Message

Welcome to the 22nd Congress of the Federation of Asian and Oceania Perinatal Societies (FAOPS) in Tokyo. We are very excited to host the Congress in 2023. The event was originally scheduled to be held in conjunction with the Tokyo Olympics as FAOPS 2020 Tokyo. However, as you are all aware, due to the spread of the coronavirus infection, the event was cancelled along with the Olympics and will now be held as FAOPS 2023.

Japan has long been leading the field of perinatal and neonatal medicine, and we wish to contribute to our society by sharing cutting-edge technology in fetal treatment, as the country has an impressively low rate of perinatal mortality. Further, since the Japanese medical society as a whole is advancing in stem cell research and regenerative medicine, we will be able to share the integrated results of stem cell research, perinatal, and neonatal medicine.

We really hope that all doctors and health care workers longing to save mothers and babies are able to come together during this Congress and develop good relationships. Japan joined the FAOPS in 1980, and in 2023 we will celebrate 43 years of being a proud member. The Japan Society of Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine is one of the largest societies in the world, with about 9,300 members. We assure you of our strong commitment to making every aspect of the Congress a resounding success.

Tokyo is ready and waiting for you!
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Congress of the FAOPS 2023.
